Gauteng is reporting major progress in its fight against Foot-and-Mouth Disease, with new outbreaks dropping by more than 96%. The province says the improvement follows a rapid response that included increased vaccination, disease surveillance, movement controls and stronger cooperation with livestock farmers. More than 542,000 animals have been vaccinated, while 94% of cattle outside feedlots have received an initial vaccination.
