Guest: Bryan Fry, Chairman and CEO at Pernod Ricard Winemakers
Original publication date: 4 November, 2022
Original description: Australian winemakers have had a tough couple of years. First they were hit by the pandemic, then China imposed crippling tariffs that saw exports to that market fall from $1.1 billion annually to just $25 million. Bryan Fry is the Chairman and CEO at Pernod Ricard Winemakers, the winemaking business that sits within the Pernod Ricard Group. He talks to Sean Aylmer about the remarkable recovery of the sector.
Update: The tariffs were lifted by China earlier this year, and exports to that market have bounced back strongly. G.H. Mumm was once again the official champagne partner of the Melbourne Cup.
