Charlie Sykes said Wisconsin is likely to be decided by a very small margin again, but he sees Democrats with an edge because of the political environment, higher engagement, and Republican weakness in the state’s rural areas and suburbs, especially as issues like tariffs and gas prices hurt farmers and voters. He noted David Crowley’s surprise primary win and strong polling despite being less well known statewide, while criticizing Republican nominee Tom Tiffany as a MAGA election denier. Sykes also discussed how Donald Trump has squandered support among Hispanic voters, pointing to Maria Salazar’s criticism of Trump as a sign of a broader shift, and argued that Republicans are increasingly tuning Trump out.
