Rachel is a single working mother with two young boys, one of whom is of British nationality, and the other Malaysian. Despite having tried for years to get Malaysian citizenship for her elder son, she’s not had success, due to our gender-biased laws that still make it difficult for women to pass on their nationality to their children. Here she shares a journal documenting the joys and challenges her family is going through, and her worries about the boys becoming separated in the future due to their different nationalities.
