WIZO, the Women's International Zionist Organization, marked the 100th anniversary of its founding on July 11th. The volunteer organization is dedicated to social welfare needs in all sectors of Israeli society, the advancement of the status of women, and Jewish education in Israel and the Diaspora. During the coronavirus pandemic when an increase in family violence was reported, WIZO opened an emergency women's shelter in Israel. KAN's Naomi Segal heard more about the impact of the coronavirus outbreak on the organization's activities from World WIZO chairperson Anita Friedman, who assumed her responsibilities earlier this year.
