In "Mamo," the new work by choreographer and dancer Elik Niv, eight women in the middle of their lives reexamine events and choices that shaped their loves, revealing situations of pain and humor, passion, life and death. The piece is the culmination of a year-long creative process Niv engaged in with the women, non-professional dancers, who were part of a dance movement workshop he led. The piece will be performed September 1st and 2nd at the Inbal Multicultural Ethnic Center in Tel Aviv, launching the Inbal Dance Theater's 2022-2023 performance season. Niv spoke to KAN reporter Naomi Segal about the work.
