"I had a friends gathering recently at a friend's house, which was a 10-minute walk away from my place. It ended quite late, & my husband said he would walk over to pick me up. My friends invited him in for a drink, but he refused & he waited at the main road. My friends were all extremely shocked at his behaviour! Do I just have low standards? I'm fine with this, but my friend's reaction is making me worry. Do I have low standards? Am I not seeing something? Is there a problem I'm missing?"

19. Do I Have Low Standards for My Husband?

"I have been with my partner for a good number of years. We have built a home. We are blissfully in love, even after 15 years. And I love that we are in this relationship because we want to and not that we needed to. Recently, I received news on a diagnosis while we had bravely faced it together and had good conversations on it, a part of me worries and feels guilty that she would end up taking care of me for the rest of my life when I no longer am able. I fear that what I give her will no longer be love, but the dread of responsibility and accountability on her part. How do we truly embrace for better and for worse? How do I convince myself to believe that there is still love, even if one day she might not be able to see it from my eyes anymore?"

"My best friend from school is getting married later this year. Recently, I found out through social media that she has a bridal party and I'm not in it. This was surprising and hurtful to me, as she mentioned a while ago that she wasn't planning on having a bridal party or bridesmaids. I'm still planning on attending the wedding, as I've already booked my flights and scheduled a trip back to Singapore around it. I live in the UK and have lived here for most of my adult life, but I feel very sad and rejected. It's also making me question our friendship. Have I misunderstood our closeness? Did the fact that I don't live in Singapore play a role in this? I want to tell her how I feel, but I'm not sure. How am I even allowed to tell her how I feel? Or is that too presumptuous?"
