In places like Europe and South America the people rise up and protest when those in power abuse their positions, or let public infrastructure and assets fall in to disrepair.

I fear Kiwis are too apathetic in this area, with the increasingly serious problems with Auckland and Wellingtons water systems becoming critical right under our eyes.

It is time as citizens that we woke up and challenged those in power to get things done.
