Resilience through cancer: A personal journey and Canteen's lifesaving work

View descriptionShare

Every journey has a beginning, but few can compare to the story of our guest today, Josh. Only nine years old when he was diagnosed with a rare form of cancer, he shares how he navigated this tumultuous journey with a spirit that exemplifies the resilience of youth. From finding solace in school and sports, to addressing treacherous health decisions amidst COVID lockdowns, and even a harrowing overdose in 2021, Josh’s story is one of perseverance and tenacity.

Canteen celebrates it's 35th birthday this year. It is an organization that has been a beacon of hope for young people like Josh, grappling with cancer. Their work is impactful and incredibly important - they save young lives. But the organization operates solely on the benevolence of donors.

Friday September 1st is a vitally important day in the Canteen calendar. It is their annual 'Bandana Day' fundraising appeal. If you are able to donate please do. Wear your support on the day by purchasing a Bandana from shop.canteen.org.nz. $5 each, or a 4-pack for $20

Also in this episode, I'll give you my take on home detention. Should the public be concerned?
