We got put through our paces as Hawthorn players today, and the contrast couldn’t have been starker. Joey lives his best life at his childhood club. Dan? Doesn’t even make it through warm-ups - tears his hammy stretching for a high ball.

Spirits took a hit, but the pod was still a blast. All fun and games… until I realise I probably can’t pick Poppy up for the next 2–12 weeks.

Here’s hoping we didn’t just curse the Hawks.

We’re straight into practice matches like they actually mean something, overanalysing every touch while quietly spiralling because your club’s best player has already ruled himself out for Round 1. The season hasn’t even started and we’re cooked.

And yes… we’re officially laying the Olivia Dean x AFL edits to rest. They had a good run. But as always, the internet got involved, ran it into the ground, and now we can’t have nice things.
