A scenario that I’m sure many of us have faced is when someone we love goes out, especially late at night, and we wait for that reassuring message to say they’re fine and have got home safely. For those who have been through this, you’ll know it’s a situation that stirs anxiety, particularly when that message takes far too long to arrive. And when it never arrives at all, what do you do?
Sadly, we do not live in a completely safe world. There are dangers that linger on the streets in the silence of the night, and today’s case is further proof of that.
What had started as just a night of fun for a young woman named Tess turned into complete despair when she didn't make it home. What’s more, there was one thing nobody could understand: why had the Uber ride she booked at 4 a.m. been cancelled?
These and other questions ran through her mother’s mind, who had been searching for her daughter for days, and due to a mistake by the police, she ended up being traumatized for the rest of her life. It was she who eventually found Tess's body, in a place where the police claimed they had already checked, and most shockingly of all, only a few metres from where her daughter had disappeared four days earlier.
Today, we look at the case of Tess Richey.
