Tweed Shire Council is appealing for information after a series of mature trees were deliberately cut down and poisoned on public land across the region. Norfolk pines at Cabarita Beach and gum trees at Tweed Heads Lawn Cemetery are among those damaged in recent months.

More than four years after the 2022 floods, housing remains a major issue across the Northern Rivers. Around 100 people gathered in Lismore recently to protest the demolition of flood-affected homes, arguing many could be relocated and reused as public or community housing instead of being sent to landfill.

I spoke with artist and community advocate Antoinette about the campaign, the findings of a recent Auditor-General's report into flood recovery and why residents are calling for a halt to demolitions.

We are going to hear about the rally that took place last Saturday in Lismore and take a closer look and how the campaign is going.

We'll look at concerns that Australia's under-16 social media ban is creating new barriers for young people with disability.

We are also heading overseas to examine the unrest in Belfast and what it could tell us about growing political divisions in the United Kingdom.
