A proposed housing development at 57 Station Street in Mullumbimby has sparked opposition from local residents, with concerns raised over drainage, flooding and the suitability of the site.

The proposal by state-owned developer Landcom is due to go before the Northern Rivers Planning Panel on Monday, 19 October.

I spoke with Paul Cholakos from the Mullumbimby Residents Association about the community's concerns, discussions within Byron Shire Council and why residents believe an alternative site at 70 Station Street could be a better option for housing.
