CN 23-10-26 - Concerns for Women in Politics Following Alleged Attack on Helen Haines; Beach Accessibility at Torakina; Stuttering Awareness Day
Join us for this week’s Community Newsroom, as we explore the growing concerns around the safety of women in politics following the alleged attack on Independent MP Helen Haines in Victoria.
Closer to home, we head to Torakina Beach in Brunswick Heads to hear how free beach wheelchairs are making the coastline more accessible. We speak with Sue Stirton from the Rotary Club of Mullumbimby, who helped bring the initiative to life and Andrew Graeme-Cook who shares his firsthand experience of using the wheelchairs.
We’ll also be exploring stuttering, looking at the challenges faced by people who stutter and the importance of greater awareness and understanding.
