Hey! I'm Carmell. Now, we're friends.

So you know where your food is coming from, let me share a little bit about myself.

I love cooking. I love teaching. I love my family and I LOVE my community. I created Melly Mell's to satisfy your soul food cravings and to keep black culture alive.

I come from a long line of cooks and teachers. I taught in the Madison School District for 12 years. In the summertime I taught students about food and culture while we made meals from around the world. 

​

We had a restaurant over off Badger Road for about 5 years, maybe you remember it? Now we focus on catering events. We prepare our food in the FEED kitchens on Madison's north side and are working on opening a location to serve people at Madison's up and coming Public Market.
