Ryan speaks with Theron Finley, a PhD Candidate in U-Vic's School of Earth and Ocean Sciences, following the recent publication of a research paper which identifies the newly discovered XEOLXELEK-Elk Lake fault which runs southeast from Eagle Beach at Elk Lake to Cordova Bay.
Researchers have determined a magnitude 6.1–7.6 quake likely occurred along this fault between 2,300 and 4,700 years ago.
