B.C. Food And Wine Radio: July 1, 2026

View descriptionShare

This week's show comes to you from Phantom Creek Estates, a premier, family-owned winery on B.C.’s Black Sage Bench, focused on producing exceptional organic and biodynamic Bordeaux-style reds and Alsace-influenced whites. 2026 marks the 10-year anniversary of Phantom Creek Estates, which has added two new Estate tours: the Grand Cellar Experience and the History Room Terroir Tasting Experience. Our guests include Jean-Marc Enixon, Director of Winemaking at Phantom Creek Estates, who welcomes us to the picturesque tasting room and speaks to their growing wine club enrollment and the 1-4 pm Music Series every Sunday. With Jean-Marc, we taste the newly released 2025 Rosé and 2025 Pinot Noir. We are humbled to be joined in the room by Olivier Humbrecht, Consulting Winemaker at Phantom Creek Estates. Olivier is the tenth generation of the Alsace-based Humbrecht family to be a winegrower, for whom agriculture and viticulture are simply part of you. In 2017, under the guidance of Olivier Humbrecht MW, Phantom Creek Estates decided to introduce two noble Alsace varieties, Pinot Gris and Riesling, to the Evernden Spring Vineyard, just over the Kobau Mountain as the crow flies in the Similkameen Valley. Olivier talks about the 2023 Small Lot Pinot Gris and 2023 Small Lot Riesling. We also caught up with Phantom Creek Assistant Winemaker Calli Bailey, who shares insights into her passion for the vineyard as we taste two new wines: the 2025 Phantom Blanc and the 2025 Coeur d'Été. Finally, Director of Farming Mike Anderson talks viticulture, and we taste the 2022 Kobau Syrah and 2018 Phantom Creek Vineyard Malbec.
