On this week's show, we come to you from the very busy International Tasting Room at the 47th annual Vancouver International Wine Festival, where this year's theme region is France. We speak with Laurent Gamonet, Export Area Director for Canada at Georges Duboeuf wines. Laurent talks about two labels you won't want to miss: the 2024 Georges Duboeuf Beaujolais-Villages and the 2023 Duboeuf Pouilly-Fuissé Premier Cru Le Clos Reyssier. Marie Pinceloup, the Export Manager at Alain Brumont, returns to discuss the 2015 Château Montus Pacherenc du Vic-Bilh Blanc and will present the story of Madieran wines. Taylor Whelan, Senior Winemaker at Mission Hill Family Estate, offers a sneak peek at the 2021 Compendium, a structured yet refined red blend dominated by Cabernet Sauvignon, and discusses a wide range of issues affecting winemaking in British Columbia. Finally, Vancouver-based sommelier Mark Davidson provides a Master Class on Classic and Contemporary Australian Wines in his current role as Head of Education, Americas at Wine Australia, which he describes as "Classic and Contemporary Australia."
