Najla: Caring for her husband with early onset dementia

View descriptionShare

Coming from a Middle Eastern Muslim background, Najla brings a unique perspective to the table. With decades of experience in vocational education and training, she's not just an expert in equity, diversity, and inclusion.

As a carer for her husband dealing with younger onset dementia, and a carer for her father with dementia, Najla reshapes the way we look at disability and the care experience.

My husband was diagnosed with dementia early onset, and my kids were devastated when I made the decision to continue to work.

I expected it from the community. I expected it from my parents. I did not expect it from my adult children. We then had this terrible conflict.
