Introducing... Series 2 with Najla, Kiara, Sibel and Elaine

View descriptionShare

Open and honest conversations with carers discussing the challenges, roadblocks, and joys of caring. Break down the stigmas around care by hearing the stories of people who live this experience every day.

In Series 2, you'll meet

  • Najla, a Middle Eastern Muslim Australian caring for her husband with early onset dementia.
  • Kiara, a young mum caring for her autistic toddler with global developmental delay.
  • Sibel, a single parent and solo carer of her adult son
  • Elaine, a Malaysian Australian caring for two of her three children and running her own support business

Host Prudence Granger, Carer-in-Residence for the Carer Knowledge Exchange, asks questions like:

  • How does caring impact your mental health?
  • How do you deal with stigma around disability, illness and care in your cultural community?

Care to Share is a UTS Impact Studios podcast.

Series 2 is produced by Siobhan Moylan. Sound Design by Melissa May and Impact Studios Executive Producer is Sarah Gilbert.

The Carer Knowledge Exchange brings together carers, former carers, researchers, policy makers and practitioners to share their knowledge and learn from each other, improving outcomes for carers by connecting research to practice.

The project is a partnership between Carers NSW and the Institute for Public Policy and Governance at the University of Technology Sydney, and is proudly funded by the NSW Government. Find out more at www.carerknowledgeexchange.com.au.
