As a result of recent rains in Cape Town, the water table has been rising and the City of Cape Town released a statement saying that their Recreation and Parks Department is closely monitoring the situation at cemeteries, and that cemetery staff might need to prepare shallower graves, depending on water table levels at a particular cemetery.
