Approximately 200 young chess players representing 36 libraries will be participating in the Inter-Library Chess Tournament taking place at the Peninsula Room, Kenilworth Racecourse, with many hailing from under-resourced communities. There will also be a Chess-to-STEM component through a partnership with the Schools Turnaround Foundation (STF), where 30 promising learners could be provided with a full year of maths tutoring in 2027. Lester Kiewit speaks to Dr Corvell Cranfield, CEO of School Turnaround Foundation and Director of Education and Operations for Education without Borders.
