View descriptionShare

In this episode, Jay is interviewed by Dennis Brown on the Growth Experts Podcast. Jay talks to Dennis all about his journey into entrepreneurship including how he used his expertise to build a 7-figure business as well as how he helps other entrepreneurs with their own start-ups. Dennis and Jay also reveal the secrets to creating a business that can scale both quickly and sustainably.

  • Since a child, Jay always learnt how to create and make his own money. It built the foundations for his journey into entrepreneurship and business.
  • Jay decided to focus on the manufacturing recruitment niche, to allow him to focus and scale fast.
  • Look at your potential clients/customers pain points and fix them for them. This gives you an edge over your competitors. Look at gaps in your industry where you can make a difference.
  • As a small business, you can be adaptable and easily differentiate yourself. You can’t always be better than your competitors, but you can easily be different.
  • Sales and marketing should always be the two things you focus on first. If they aren’t driving the business, then you won’t be able to scale.
  • Don’t waste time on tasks that don’t add revenue. As a business owner your focus should be on revenue-generating tasks or that grow the business. Anything else is a distraction.

‘If I want to be successful, I need to go into a market that was booming…scalability was there’

‘We listened, we went the extra mile’

‘Focus on what revenue you can bring in, you’ll always grow that way”
