The US House of Representatives has approved a three-year extension of the African Growth and Opportunity Act (AGOA). However, uncertainty remains over South Africa’s continued inclusion amid strained diplomatic relations between Washington and Pretoria. The bill, which would extend AGOA until December 2028, now moves to the Senate for further consideration.
