Truck drivers stranded at the various ports of entry from South Africa to Botswana

View descriptionShare

Truck drivers at various ports of entry from South Africa to Botswana have been left stranded by a backlog of trucks.

Many truck drivers are forced to queue approximately 5 kilometres for about five days at the borders, due to delays allegedly caused by the Botswana Unified Revenue Services' itemised customs declaration procedure.

Thami Ngubeni spoke to the Chief Executive Officer at Road Freight Association, Gavin Kelly.
