Students asked for sexual favours in return for marks at three South African universities

View descriptionShare

South Africa's Commission for Gender Equality (CGE) has found that students at three institutions of higher learning have been asked for sexual favours in return for marks and accommodation on campus.

The Commission also found that sexual harassment cases remain under-reported, with some respondents citing a lack of trust in the system and being bullied as some of the reasons for not reporting such cases.

Channel Africa's Mabu Boloka spoke to Javu Baloyi, a Spokesperson at South Africa's Commission for Gender Equality
