The Zimbabwean government has issued a directive for vendors to vacate the streets of Harare. However, vendors in Harare's central business district (CBD) are still operating, defying a government directive.
The Zimbabwe Chamber of Informal Economy Associations (ZCIEA) says removing traders off the streets without addressing Zimbabwe's economic collapse is a recipe for disaster and that this move will create unnecessary panic, instability and vulnerability.
