The African Development Bank (AFDB) says education in Africa must translate into jobs, economic growth, and poverty reduction if the continent is to realise its full potential. Speaking at the 20th anniversary of the African Council for Distance Education at the University of South Africa in Pretoria, on Thursday, the Bank's Director for Human Development, Babatunde Omilola, emphasised the need to better align education systems with labour market demands, especially for Africa's rapidly growing youth population.
