South Africa’s Minister of Electricity and Energy, Dr Kgosientsho Ramokgopa, says Africa is making steady progress in balancing energy security, economic growth and its climate commitments.
Speaking to Channel Africa on the sidelines of the 2026 Africa Energy Forum in Cape Town, Ramokgopa stressed that stronger policy coordination across the continent will be key to unlocking investment, expanding energy access and advancing Africa’s long-term energy ambitions.
