Regional integration in East Africa is gaining fresh momentum, as President William Ruto of Kenya and President Samia Suluhu Hassan of Tanzania, move to eliminate longstanding trade barriers. The two leaders have directed the removal of all non-tariff barriers between their two countries by the end of May 2026, following high-level talks in Dar es Salaam.
