EU in Malawi launching a new 143 million-Euro package

For the past few months as we aware covering the economic situation in Malawi and how the country has been trying to turn the situation around. From increasing higher education fees to cutting funds for Independence Day celebrations. Well today we are talking about the European Union (EU) in Malawi launching a new 143 million-Euro package of EU support under the Neighbourhood, Development and International Cooperation Instrument, Global Europe. 

It is developed in close partnership with the Government of Malawi and said to translate the priorities of the EU-Malawi Multiannual Indicative Programme.

To explain what it is, what it means and how the repayment is going to work, Thami Ngubeni spoke to Dr Andrea Mjuma Chief Economist, Department of Economic Planning and Development in Malawi's Ministry of Finance, Economic Planning and Decentralisation.
