Algeria's Ambassador to South Africa, Ali Achoui, says the country is opening up major investment opportunities, particularly in infrastructure, mining, and energy. He noted that stronger partnerships with African countries will be central to accelerating this growth. The Ambassador delivered the message at the Annual Algeria Investment Summit, which is currently underway in Johannesburg.

Statistics South Africa has fallen victim to a ransomware attack by the emerging cybercrime group known as XP95. The threat actors claim to have successfully breached the agency responsible for conducting South Africa's census, as well as producing and disseminating other official statistics, like the Consumer Price Index. This cyber attack, it's said to have come at a time when ransomware attacks are escalating globally, reflecting a sharp rise in the frequency and sophistication of cybercrime.
