22 African countries say Africans their governments should pressurise rich and developed countries to provide resources to help citizens who are affected by climate change

A survey by Afrobarometer has found that more than three-quarters of Africans say their governments should put more pressure on rich and developed countries to provide resources to help citizens who are affected by climate change or changes in weather conditions.

This is as the UN Climate Change Conference (COP29) adopted a new financial goal to help countries protect their people and economies against climate disasters. A study conducted in 22 countries has also found that 81% of those surveyed say climate change is making life in their countries worse.
