ROADS TAX SAGA CONTINUES: Fresno Eyes Sales Tax as Measure C Clock Ticks Down

View descriptionShare

The Fresno City Council is considering placing a half-cent general sales tax on the November ballot to replace funding that could be lost when Measure C expires in 2027. Supporters say it could generate about $65 million annually for roads, public safety, and city services. Critics note the tax would go into the General Fund, meaning future councils could spend the money on priorities other than roads.
