The recent unrest in Los Angeles has sparked a heated war of words between Mayor Karen Bass, Governor Gavin Newsom, and President Donald Trump, highlighting deep political divisions over how to handle violent protests and immigration enforcement. President Trump deployed 2,000 National Guard troops and 700 Marines to Los Angeles in response to violent protests tied to federal immigration crackdowns.  Both Newsom and Bass strongly opposed the move, calling it an overreach that inflamed tensions rather than calming them. Trump, in turn, accused both Newsom and Bass of “lying to Californians” about the severity of the protests and claimed his actions were necessary to restore order.
