The mother of 13‑year‑old Dominiq Puentes, who was killed Friday at Bullard and Palm, was on a moped she says she didn't want him to have because of safety concerns. Two juveniles were riding a moped-style scooter when they were hit by a white pickup truck. Puentes was driving the scooter and died at the hospital from his injuries. His 12‑year‑old passenger, a relative, was critically injured and remains hospitalized. Puentes mother doesn't believe Fresno streets are designed for mopeds, e‑bikes, or scooters, especially with children riding among traffic.
