Move This March for Families: The Grant Family's Story & Why House to House Matters

View descriptionShare

In this episode, we’re joined by Bronnie Grant, who opens up about the moment her family’s world suddenly shifted. When her son Angus — or Goobs, as many know him — became seriously unwell, Bronnie and her husband Cameron had to leave their rural home with no warning, while still caring for their other children, Addi and Zoe.

Far from home and facing overwhelming uncertainty, Ronald McDonald House Charities (RMHC) became their lifeline. It provided a safe place to stay together, practical support, and the emotional reassurance they desperately needed.

Bronnie shares the moment everything changed, how quickly they had to move, and the comfort and trust RMHC offered in those first critical days. She also reflects on the small acts of kindness — the meals, the people, the community — that helped carry them through.

With House to House happening this March, Bronnie explains why their whole family encourages Kiwis to Move This March for Families, and how each kilometre walked helps keep families like theirs close during medical emergencies.
