Vans and the Man Debut: Dolly Parton, Song Swaps, and Finding New Music Across Generations

Boerne Radio 103.9FM debuts “Vans and the Man” Featuring The Father Daughter Team of Baron Wiley and “Vans” Wiley, Boerne Radio’s assistant music director, as they talk about their lifelong habit of swapping songs—his 20th-century favorites and her 21st-century discoveries..

Vans explains how she’s built monthly Spotify playlists since 2018 and how the October 2026 list includes multiple Dolly Parton tracks, leading to a deeper conversation about Dolly, including Vans visiting Dollywood shortly before Dolly died and learning the news online while working.

They discuss Dolly’s connection to Miley Cyrus, Boerne Radio airing Miley’s Bob Dylan cover “You’re Gonna Make Me Lonesome When You Go,” and Vans recommends Dolly essentials: “9 to 5,” “Coat of Many Colors,” and “Bargain Store.”

They plan future artist-focused episodes and plug their Spotify accounts and Boerne Radio platforms.
