Following the 3rd-place finishes at state last Friday, Boerne Champion Water Polo had 2 players respectively earn a spot on the all-tournament team for state. Your honorees are Will Harrison for the boys and Bennett Rice for the girls. Congrats on a great season.

The Spurs are now 4-0 for the first time in a while… they knocked off Toronto at home last night, 121-103. Victor Wembanyama had 24 points and 15 rebounds. 

And this week on the station, not 1, but 2 football games as we hit the home stretch of the regular season. First, on Thursday, it’s Grant Sweeney and the hottest team in 5A- the Greyhounds as they host McCollum at 7. On Friday, Halloween night… there are no tricks, (wolf howling sound effect) except maybe some trick plays and a treat if Boerne Champion wins… Julian Navarette, at the moment, is listed in the starting rotation to lead the Chargers in a district battle against Wagner in Boerne at 7. Fired Up Friday will get us going at 5 on Friday, and both games will air at 6:30 for pregame.

In fact, the Along the Wire podcast ranked 5A football teams again. Now at 5-3, Champion creeped their way into 8th place in the top 10, and the Hounds sit in 2nd place just behind rival Smithson Valley.
