Greyhound baseball will take on Veterans memorial today at 1, and their softball counterparts take on Pieper tomorrow at 2pm. 

For Boerne Champion- baseball will not play until tomorrow at 1 when they battle Reagan. Softball will be at Wagner Thursday at 2pm. 

And the 2nd-place Spurs are back in action tonight at the Frost Bank Center as the Boston Celtics come to town. A 7pm tip off start time for that one.

Daytime baseball and softball games for two teams today as Champion baseball will take on Reagan today at 1pm. Greyhound softball battles Pieper at 2pm. 

In soccer, Boerne High girls defeated Pieper 3-1 given a delay because of the weather in the area. The Charger boys defeated Wagner 8-1, securing a playoff berth after Boerne lost to Pieper as well. 

Men’s basketball conference tournaments continue for college- SMU in the ACC Tournament 2nd round has to get past Louisville to advance. Tip-off for this game is at 1:30.

Your new issue of the Boerne Star is out today, and here are some of the headlines. 

Comfort High School's Allie Esser outshot 467 competitors to claim the title of 2026 Civilian Marksmanship Program Texas 3PAR State Champion. 

35 year Boerne resident Charles Karulak is the new president of the Kendall County Republican Club as Rich Sena remains as the first vice president-programs.

There was a City Council Meeting held last night, and here are some of the highlights. Whitley Penn has been helping conduct an audit of the City of Boerne for the 2025 fiscal year, and found that we increased our net position to 108 million. In total, we saw an increase in funds of 17.1 million overall last year. There was also an overview of the Safe Streets for All Program, which aims to eliminate fatal and serious injury crashes through comprehensive planning. Currently, the City is hoping to receive federal funding for the planning portion of this project, and then eventually apply for grants to build. As of now, 73% of crashes in Boerne occur on 15% of our roadways, so there must be infrastructural issues that can be worked on to prevent these problems. 

The council also reviewed how our City would celebrate our country’s 250th birthday this July. As of now, they plan to decorate Main and Veterans’ Plaza with lighting and pole mounts, as well as grand flags and decor at City Hall. There will be fireworks displayed on July 4th, and for the first time ever there will be patriotic music accompanying the show. Other celebrations will include a Free Family night at the pool, tie-dye days, and an ice cream social. 

Starting tomorrow, the City of Fair Oaks Ranch will be reducing traffic on the Cibolo Creek Bridge in order to remove the concrete traffic barriers. The work is expected to take place between 8 am to 5 pm on Thursday and Friday, and will reduce traffic to one lane under the guidance of a flagger and law enforcement. Motorists are advised to expect delays and are asked to drive safely through construction zones.

He was famous for his skill with a large custom knife, he was fluent in French and Spanish, and in fact he became a Mexican citizen when he married the daughter of the vice governor of the province when Texas was Mexico at the time.

Scammers have been calling local market day vendors posing as David Queebach who Is the organizer of Boerne Market days-they are calling from 719-530-7701.If you receive a call from this scammer, do not answer, but keep in mind that they often change their phone numbers. If something feels off, you can always contact the Boerne Police Department. 

So as the runoff candidates are regrouping after the primary elections last week and just to reset we have a runoff for County Commissioner Precinct 2 between Incumbent Andra Wisian and J.C. Taylor - and the race for County Judge with Incumbent Shane Stolarczyk and Ricky Gleason.   That election day is on May 26th and early voting will begin on May 18th…and just to make it confusing, the general election for City Council scheduled for May 2nd was cancelled because incumbents Ty Wolosin in District 1 and Kyle Mickelsen in District 3 are unopposed…however…the Boerne ISD School Board Trustee Election is still on and still on May 2nd with one race in the mix…Incumbent Rich Sena and new challenger Michael Ethridge.

So tomorrow at the Patrick Heath Public library The Boerne Civic Roundtable invites you to attend their next civic forum featuring those two candidates.  Doors open at 6pm and the event begins at 6:30.

The forum is part of the Roundtable’s ongoing effort to promote informed civic engagement and respectful community dialogue and led by Ron Cisneros and Dale Adams who are the hosts of Cease Fire as heard here on Boerne Radio every Saturday morning at 10:30.
