We’ve learned of a new school record that took place the other night. Champion’s boys basketball game against Veterans Memorial. The Chargers did lose, but Gavin Peck broke the scoring record by 1 point. He had 45 in the game, and the now former record holder was Braeden Baum. Baum set the record back in 2022. So, mark the date- January 13, 2026. A new Champion scoring record!

Taking place up I-35 in Austin is the USA Swim Pro Swim Series… top swimmers including Katie Ledecky, the most decorated U.S. women’s swimmer is competing at the event. Representing Boerne is Champion’s Kate Canales- she won the bronze medal in women’s 100m breaststroke with a time of 1:10.13. 

We’re on the brink of cheer competition season, and Boerne High’s cheerleading team is getting their spirit on. Literally! They even put on a little competition routine for the crowd at the Boerne/Wagner game Tuesday. 

And coming off a loss in Oklahoma City Tuesday night, the Spurs come back home and take on Milwaukee tonight at 7.
