Champion Aquatics didn’t have the worst outing at the water polo Waterpalooza tournament in San Antonio. They were still one of the top teams. The girls placed 3rd after a 6-4 win over Brandeis. They went 5-1 overall over the weekend. The boys in a heartbreaker lost to Hebron 12-11 and came in as the runners-up.
And in a different aquatics sport, Kate Canales from Champion was named one of the top 50 athletes in the area by the Express News. On top of leading the team to a 5A state championship, she also holds the 5A meet record in the 100-yard breaststroke.
We have an update on the GoFundMe Effort of Boerne High School Sophomore Halo Botha, she plays Volleyball for the Greyhounds, and the Hill Country Strike Volleyball Club…
She’s currently battling Non-Hodgkin’s Large B-Cell Lymphoma. Friends and Family immediately launched a campaign to help pay for those medical bills and set the goal for $20,000. They are $1,504 away from meeting that goal. If you’d like to help Halo cross that line as her kidneys and pancreas are under attack, we have a direct link to give in our Sports Blog at BoerneRadio.com - https://www.gofundme.com/f/support-halos-fight-against-lymphoma
