It was on this date in 1973 that Nolan Ryan… name sound familiar? Would throw his 2nd no-hitter as a California Angel against Detroit to win 6-0. This would be years before he became an Astro then a Ranger after spending 7 years with California. To this date, there have been 326 no-hitters in Major League history, and Nolan Ryan would go on to have 7 of them in his career.
And as the current All-Star break runs through Thursday, we not only look forward to the National League vs American League classic tonight, but also shift focus on up and coming things like football. 45 days away from high school ball starting, 46 from college, and The Cowboys start training camp one week from today and players are to report in 6 days time. Two big storylines to watch for are Micah Parsons looking for an extension as this is the final year of his rookie deal, and Dak Prescott telling reporters he’s “full go” for training camp.
As for the Spurs, they’re now 3-0 in Summer league after a 93-91 win over Utah that ended with a Riley Minix buzzer beater… this guy only played one NBA game last season! He might be playing more now after that. And alongside Wemby as he was officially cleared yesterday from his blood clot.
