Headlines: Boerne beats Pioneer / Jonny Waters gets rare touchdown / Champion plays tonight / Spurs win against Atlanta
Friday 11/21
Boerne Radio Sports!
This is Esteban Serrano reporting from Laredo, Texas, where last night - your Boerne Greyhounds secured a spot to play during Thanksgiving week. Sharyland Pioneer was their opponent- let’s just say, Boerne had no problems with them. The final score from Bill Johnson was 42-17 Greyhounds.
And a cool play that occurred during the game was a pitch to Jonny Waters right behind the line of scrimmage… Waters is an O-lineman and doesn’t carry the ball much. The play was executed perfectly as he took it in for a touchdown. Here’s why he had to say to Kerry Barboza after the game…
Audio:
The old hook and ladder play… congrats to the Greyhounds. Their opponent next week is to be decided tonight.
Their sister school, Boerne Champion, plays against undefeated Pharr San Juan Alamo North tonight at Bill Johnson. We have Fired Up Friday at 5 and pregame at 6:30 here on Boerne Radio. Kerry Barboza did tell me off the mic last night that he is expecting a more competitive game. We’ll see how that goes.
The Spurs win again at home, without key players. They beat Atlanta 135-126. De’Aaron Fox among leading scorers with 26 points and 9 assists.
The Texans are 6-5 after beating the now 7-4 Buffalo Bills at home last night, 23-19.
