In case you haven’t heard… uh… the Boerne Greyhounds are 5A regional champions. The 65-50 score at the Alamodome Friday night was historic, and we know who they will face in the state semifinals- the Lions of Richmond Randle.
They have not lost a game last year, and Saturday night, they knocked off Iowa Colony by a close score of 21-14. So it’s Boerne and Randle to go to Jerryworld next week… the semifinal game is Friday at McLane Stadium in Waco… and we will have coverage on Boerne Radio.
The Geneva boys basketball team represented in the Cypress Christian Warrior Tournament, and the Eagles are champions of the silver bracket- they defeated John Cooper 66-47 on Saturday to claim it.
The Cowboys will be playing tonight against Cincinnati on Monday Night Football at 7:15. The Texans were on a bye week.
The Spurs defeated former Spur Dejounte Murray and the Pelicans, 121-116 last night.
The 12-team college football playoff bracket was released yesterday by the committee- the top four teams in the rankings get byes, and in descending order are Oregon, Georgia, Boise State, and Arizona State. The matchups that will determine their opponents will be Clemson vs. Texas, (Texas losing to Georgia in the SEC Championship game lost them the bye week) Tennessee vs. Ohio State, SMU vs. Penn State, and Indiana vs. Notre Dame. In Bowl news, the matchup for the Valero Alamo Bowl on the 28th of December has been released- Colorado will play BYU at the Alamodome. Closer to home, Boerne Champion fans will know that Gage Goldberg plays as a Colorado Buffalo.
