Headlines:Hill Country Classic/Spurs game/Look back at 2024

It’s the last day of 2024… and the Hill Country Classic will continue today at Geneva with more round robin games before the championship games later in the day. The Eagle boys yesterday easily won a 69-54 game against Frassati, and ended a close one with Dalla Covenant, 63-61. The girls easily beat Frassati 61-28, and lost to St. Pius 48-43. 

The Spurs will also be busy tonight at 6 as they play the Clippers. 

Well, as 2024 wraps up we have to look back on a spectacular sports year for Boerne and the sports teams that are near and dear… to begin with, we had Boerne Little League stun the world with a magical run, Elizabeth Leachman represented at Olympic Qualifiers, and we had a Paralympian in Jason Tabansky win archery gold. From the Greyhound baseball team winning a playoff series off a dropped fly ball, to the football team’s first playoff run as a 5A program… the 100th year of Greyhound football and a new era of the Spurs… 2024 was one for the books. And I’m thankful for each and every one of you joining me each day for your daily dose of sports news in Boerne, and I look forward to more excitement in 2025.
