How cool! That was another Big League star wishing Boerne Little League the best of luck- Hunter Brown from the Houston Astros was kind enough to submit a video. Thank you Mr. Brown, and the boys wearing orange in H-Town might unintentionally give Boerne some luck today.
It is Boerne Little League’s chance to make history and head into the U.S. Championship game later this week… for a chance to play the international winner in the Little League World Series game, but a lot has to happen until then… and one question a lot of fans have is “what happens if Boerne loses today?”
Well, luckily, it won’t be the end of the world for them. But it is a process, so stay with me. The Little League World Series tournament is a “double-elimination” style tournament, where, just as the name implies, a team gets 2 strikes before they are sent packing. So, if they were to lose their game today, they won’t go home just yet, because they would play the sole survivor of the elimination bracket to try to get into the U.S. championship for a second time. And if they were to lose that game, they would be going home with a historic name and all the love from their community. So, take a deep breath… if the sequence is win then lose, they play for 3rd. If the sequence is lose then win, they play in the U.S championship game. If they keep winning, well, of course, they are the greatest baseball team on the face of the earth and could bring
home a world title. Game number 30 of the Little League World Series between Boerne and Paseo Verde from Nevada is today at 2 on ESPN.
