Headlines: Greyhound Football Season Ends / Geneva Basketball sweeps Holy Cross / Spurs win in Portland

Humdiddley Dee indeed!  That happened in the first quarter of the State Semi-Final Game between the Greyhounds and Richmond Randle - that score tied it up - 7-7 in a very competitive first half and at the half it was 14-7 - Randle had the lead…and never let it go with their trick plays - a double reverse pass play that turned into a touch down…and Texas Sports Productions announcer Bobby Stautzenberger said it seemed like the rain came down harder when the Greyhounds had the ball but no excuses…there’s a reason why Randle was undefeated - final score 42-7.  Let’s recap the year - last year 4A = this year 5A and ranked 147 at the beginning and made it all the way to the Semi-finals in the same year Boerne celebrated 100 years of football, Coach Che Hendrix celebrating over 100 wins in his career, just a fantastic season - a town is proud - and so we look to basketball now…and low and behold the new 5A Boerne Greyhounds will play for the first time the 5A Champion Chargers - this event is totally sold out - a rivalry we never wanted to see but here we are.  The Greyhounds are 10-4…The Chargers are 13-3 - should be a great game.

The Geneva Eagle boys get the win over Holy Cross with a basketball score of 72-56.  The Lady Eagles played the same sport against the same Holy Cross and they won 87-19.

Spurs get a win in Portland last night even after Chris Paul was ejected in the 1st with a double technical for not liking a call.  It came down to the last couple of seconds after being down by 14 in the middle of the 4th - tied it up 116 - 116 with Wemby making a couple of free throws - game over.   Spurs play Minnesota at home on Sunday.
