Headlines: Charger and Eagle softball wins / Geneva Basketball sees Express News honors / Spurs lose to the Magic / Valero Open tees off tomorrow

A couple of big softball wins last night as the Chargers and Eagles were in action. We’ll start with Geneva- district game against New Braunfels Christian and let’s just say there’s a reason the Eagles continue to remain undefeated, they soar past, and win, 14-0. Charger girls dominates as well, 6-0 over Alamo Heights. Lilly Ritchie went 3 for 4 at the plate, while Mylie Parker had a 1 hitter in the circle and 2 RBIs as a hitter. 

Wyatt Bruss and Cole Lutz were also named to the SA Express News All-Area Team as the boys awards were released yesterday. 

Spurs lose to the Magic in San Antonio 116-105. Tonight, they’re in Denver for a 8pm tip. Only 2 home games remain for the Spurs which are Friday, and Sunday the 13th. 

The Valero Texas Open tees off tomorrow and the estimated purse for the tournament is $9.5 million. An early yet surprising pick from multiple sources to walk away with the top prize is Ludwig Aberg… as he comes off strong at the start of the year taking the Genesis Invitational… but he has been rocky the past couple of starts. We shall see… It starts with 6 players teeing off at 7:20am tomorrow at TPC Oaks.
