Here’s a Buc-ees Update: Today is the day a pre-construction meeting is scheduled for the long-planned travel center, which could clear the way for work to begin soon after. Part of those plans include major road and drainage improvements tied to the I-10 site.
Boerne Radio history happened last night as we aired our first volleyball game as both the Champion Chargers and Boerne Greyhounds were tied for first place. Champion beat the Greyhounds at home in 3 sets. Senior Brielle Boothe has 20 kills while Brady Cooksey recorded 40 assists. Champion is now 10-1 in district play and sits in first place alone with one match remaining. A win over Alamo Heights on Friday would give the Chargers their first outright district title since 2019.
Boerne ISD is inviting residents age 65 and older to join the new Boerne Breakfast Club. Each session includes breakfast,a T-shirt, a campus tour and a student-led activity designed to connect seniors with local schools. In 9 days Morningside at Menger Springs will cut the ribbon on their new neighborhood Terrace Homes. This will add 74 independent living residences to Morningside at Menger Springs, which sits on 42 acres alongside Menger Creek.
Outdoor burning was temporarily blocked this weekend due to wind conditions, but a fire erupted this week after burning was reinstated. Emergency crews and officers from the Kendall County Office of Emergency Management responded to a brush fire at Cibolo Ridge Trail yesterday afternoon. The fire was contained, preventing any danger to the public. If you plan on burning, make sure to follow the law to help keep Kendall County safe.
